Melissa loves all aspects of being a real estate agent! Whether it’s taking a personal interest in clients to understand their exact needs, creating marketing strategies for their properties, or negotiating and writing contracts, she is committed to consistently providing excellent service. Melissa genuinely cares about her clients and finds great satisfaction in guiding them in a meaningful way as they maneuver important transitions in their lives.
Originally from California and raised in Natchez, Mississippi, Melissa attended LSU where she subsequently earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Business Administration in Marketing and Management Information Systems. Her ongoing commitment to education and professional development enables Melissa to provide exceptional service to her clients. Not only is Melissa a licensed real estate agent, she has taken her education a step further and earned the specialized real estate designations of ‘Sellers Representative Specialist’, ‘Accredited Buyers Specialist’, as well as certification as an ‘e-PRO’ specialist.
Melissa’s professional qualifications are not limited to real estate. She has enjoyed several successful careers over the years, including owning a web design and marketing firm. She has also worked extensively with attorneys and other professionals in settings requiring the precise management of extremely complex information.
Many people are surprised to learn that Melissa is a licensed USCG Captain, ocean mariner, and offshore adventurer. In 2004, she and her husband Buddy sold their businesses, home and cars and set sail on an ocean-rated catamaran. They lived aboard their sailboat for six years, covering over 19,000 nautical miles while exploring the Bahamas, Eastern and Western Caribbean, and the northern coast of South America, including Venezuela and Colombia. You can read about their adventure aboard their sailboat “Indigo Moon” at their website www.indigomoon.us.
When Melissa and Buddy’s sailing adventure was completed in 2010, they sold their sailboat and moved back to their home state of Louisiana where they lived in Mandeville for 10 years. For six years prior to moving to Nashville, Melissa enjoyed a successful real estate career in the New Orleans area.
Now happily residing in Nashville, Melissa brought her passion for real estate with her. She looks forward to continuing to assist her clients in making their dreams come true. You’ll find she’s especially passionate about her favorite pastimes, all of which involve the outdoors – gardening, bicycling, water sports, or simply enjoying a beautiful hike in the many parks and greenways in Nashville. Melissa is involved in the community through the Mt. Juliet Breakfast Rotary Club and American Legion Auxillary.
